Coach Dan refers to himself as the “caretaker” of the Blast Triathlon Club. He says , “Blast has been led by exceptional coaches starting with the founder Barrie Shepley. My responsibility is to make certain this tradition continues”. Dan has been a part of “Blast” and the triathlon scene for many years. His first “race” was as a relay team member in what was then known as the Royal Lepage triathlon series.
Since that first race, Dan has participated in many multi sport events which gives him insight into the different aspects of racing. In addition to being an NCCP Level 1 Triathlon Coach, Dan has completed a full ironman, raced at the 70.3 distance and represented Canada at the ITU World Championships. Dan says, “I feel blessed to work alongside those who are new to the sport as well as some of our multi sport veterans. At Blast, we all learn from each other and that’s what makes this club unique.”
